Fun In California!

For those of you who don't know, we went to San Diego, California this Christmas season! We got to experience many things while we were there. First, we got to enjoy Char and Garrett's wedding. Next, we did Disneyland, California adventure, the San Diego beaches, and the San Diego zoo! We had an amazing time with everything and we will definitely be going back! The kids are wondering if we could live there.....they too had an amazing time!

Ready for Good Health

Hello Everyone! It's been a while since I have posted.....things are very busy and crazy right now. As you all probably know, we have definately had the influenza in our home since before Halloween! Addison is finally back to her old self. We are very excited about that! Ashton on the other hand is still stuggling. We finally took him into the doctor on Monday thinking that he had an ear infection and hoping for some antibiotics to clear that right up. Well we thought wrong....I would much rather have the ear infection....at least that will go away! We were informed that Ashton probably needs to be seen by a pediatric allergist. The past couple of weeks he has had a very nasty nose, very watery and mattery eyes, and a cough. We thought maybe it was a relapse of influenza but nope just allergies. He is definately getting that from his daddy.....Dan is allergic to everything.....including dairy products. That is one reason why the docter thinks Ashton needs to be tested and then we can pin point what medications will actually give him some relief! I'm ready for him to feel better but I'm not ready to put him through hell to get him well. If you are not familiar with how they go about doing this, they scrape the back and top layer of skin with different polens and food products and see which ones they react to. Needless to say if they are allergic to most things they end up one big welt. Not a fun process and haven't heard from anyone that it's pleasent. I guess if we can get it all figured out he will get to feeling better! Well that's all for now......Take Care!

Our Sick Little Man

Well as some of you already know, our sweet Ashton is very sick. We have only had a small break from when Addison was sick with the same thing. We are pretty sure that he has influenza like Addison had, but we are not going to get him tested unless he worsens. He has been running high fevers, runny nose, coughing, body aches, and really bad headaces! Here we go again.....this is definitely not a fun time and we are hoping to be done with all the sickness here shortly!
So sick he can hardly stay awake or function
Sick of mommy taking pictures

He has been out all day! He fell asleep at noon and it is now 4:00 pm!

Another Snow.....or Blizzard

Well for those of you who dont know, we got about 9 1/2 inches of snow last night. This weather has been crazy! Myself, Michelle, and Addi are supposed to be going shopping today, but at this point I 80 and all highways are closed! I guess we are going to have to wait to see if the roads clear a little.....although its supposed to keep snowing throughout the day! The kiddos will probably be trick or treating in the snow for the first time....Im hoping it will warm up and it will all be gone by then! Also a small update on Addi......she has not been out of the house for 1 week and she's so excited to go shopping today! She still sounds a little crappy but is fever free and feeling much better. She is finally getting over that hill. Take Care!

Another Update

Well Addison is doing better today with her fevers.....she's not running one so far this morning, but not so well on the respiratory part. She is really struggling with her drainage and her nose. She still looks sickly.....her eyes tell it all. I'm going back to work this afternoon for the first time since last Friday.....I havent left the house since then!! We have some good meds for her but Im going to try and get a nebulizer for her so we can do some breathing treatments to get over this large hill! Thanks for the thoughts and prayers!
Take Care

Update on Addison

Well as you all know our little Addison has been sick with what seems like influenza. Dan & I decieded not to put her through the pain of having her tested, but we are pretty positive that is what she has. We thought maybe she was having a better day yesterday, but she declined in the afternoon. She spiked fevers once again and just cried in pain. It seems everything we do just isnt quite enough. I was up with her early this morning and I could not get her settled down because of her pain. She finally threw up and as she was thrusting she had blood coming out of her nose. Dan & I decided to call the doctor and he told us to do Tylenol & Motrin every 3-4 hrs regardless of a fever and he called some other medicine down to the pharmacy for her to take. He said if she worsens to get her to the hospital! What seemed like a long hall seems even longer now. We will definately do what it takes at this point. Dan & I are going to start doing shifts with her at home because its looking like she will be out school and daycare for the rest of the week! Take Care!
